Use and Care The cutlery in your Wusthof Grand Prix II knife block set should be hand washed. Simply wipe clean with a wet cloth and dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately. Dry from the knife handle toward the blade. To prevent slight tarnishing, be sure to remove acidic foods (lemon, mustard, ketchup, etc.) from the blades after use. If blade should show some signs of staining, clean with a nonabrasive metal polish. To maintain each knife's cutting edge, sharpen as needed using the honing steel or a handheld sharpener or Wusthof's new PEtec electric sharpener. It is best to store your kitchen knife set in the included knife block. When needed, wipe the block's exterior clean with a dry cloth. To remove any dried-on items or to give the block a thorough surface cleaning, apply mineral oil with fine steel wool. Mineral oil brightens and conditions the wood.
