Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately. Dry from the knife handle toward the blade. Your kitchen shears come apart for thorough sanitation and easily locks back into place. Wipe the cutting board clean after each use and dry thoroughly. Lightly apply mineral oil to condition the bamboo board. If the corkscrew needs cleaning, simple wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. To prevent slight tarnishing of stainless-steel, be sure to remove acidic foods (lemon, mustard, ketchup, etc.) from the blades after use. If blades should show some signs of staining, clean with a nonabrasive metal polish. To maintain each tool's cutting edge, sharpen as needed using the 2-stage sharpener. Sharpener Instructions Use the 2-stage manual sharpener periodically to maintain a sharp edge on your knives. Place the knife sharpener on a flat work surface. Hold the sharpener with one hand as indicated and the knife handle with the other. Insert knife blade fully into the slot at 90-degree angle to the sharpener. Apply moderate downward pressure on the blade while pulling the knife toward you through the appropriate notch. Repeat this action, always pulling the blade from head to tip (never back and forth) through either the carbide or the ceramic notch. Note: The first stage carbide (coarse) resets a dull blade. The second stage ceramic (fine) provides a honed, razor sharp edge. A reasonably sharp knife may only require this light honing. No lubrication is required. Always clean the exterior of the knife sharpener after every use. Wipe with a damp cloth or mild brush and wipe dry. Do not use detergents or abrasive cleaners. Do not rinse with water.
